Print Shop FAQ’s, Terms, and Conditions

What is your return policy?

See the Refunds and Returns page.

How long will it take to get my order?

Processing time is 1-5 business days. Prints will usually ship faster than gallery wraps. Unless I have a gallery wrap made, it will take me 3-4 days to complete it due to ink and protective coating drying times.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes. Contact me via the Contact page.

How will my item be packaged?

All prints will be shipped in either a sturdy envelope or with a sturdy insert inside of an envelope to prevent bending. All prints will be enclosed in a clear, acid-free bag for additional protection. Gallery wraps will be shipped in box, and will also be inside of an acid-free bag.

What kind of media is used to produce prints?

I print on acid-free paper using Canon ChromaLife100+ dye based inks. I source all of my paper from Red River Paper. Each 5×7, 8×10, and 19×13 print is made on a luster metallic paper. The gallery wraps are made using a matte canvas paper.

Are your prints archival?

The paper I use is considered archival. It is acid and lignin free. The ink I use is dye based. Dye based inks do not last as long as pigment based inks, and are therefore not technically considered archival. However, according to Canon, you can expect to get 30 years out of your print if optimally mounted.

Gallery wraps are archival. I coat each wrap in a water based protective coating from Premier Imaging. They spec their product as providing archival level protection for over 100 years. In fact, the coating is so protective, you can clean it with a lint-free wet cloth.

How should I mount my new print?

Your mounting decision will be based on your personal taste and budget. In order to get the most life out of your print, you should mount it using acid-free materials and UV protective glazing. Look for matting and backer board that are advertised as “archival” or “conservation.” However, these options will be more expensive than non-archival products. Your framer will be able to help you make these decisions. Regardless, strive to hang your print away from direct sunlight.

Gallery wraps come with a sawtooth mounting piece already installed. All you will need is a nail to hang it from.

What size mat board should I use to mount my new print?

All of my prints are sized to fit into standard sized mat boards with a 1/8th inch gap between the photo and the board. You local frame store should be able to create a mat and frame to a different size if you desire.

13×19: Actual print size is 12.25×18.25. Standard mat size is 16×24 with a 12.5×18.5 opening (size 18b).
8×10: Actual print size is 7.25×9.25. Standard mat size is 11×14 mat with a 7.5×9.5 opening (size 11).
5×7: Actual print size is 4.25×6.25. Standard mat size is 8×10 with a 4.5×6.5 opening (size 8).

I see you offer the ability to customize in your listing. What does this mean?

You’ll notice I have three listings for each print; a 5×7/8×10, 13×19, and 10×16 gallery wrap. Obviously there are a lot more paper sizes out there than that! Unfortunately I can’t stock everything. If you are interested in a different size than what I have listed, I can make it happen! Send me a message using the Contact page with what you would like.
